Introduction to Garden Design

Get a great start in garden design – learning the artistic, theoretical and practical aspects

This course is ideal for those who want to study the fundamentals of garden design. It combines theoretical design aspects with plant knowledge and landscape construction skills – so you can translate your creative ideas into practical, workable designs. As well as design principles and styles, you will also learn about basic surveying, how to draw plans, ‘soft’ landscaping, which focuses on the choice and use of plants, and ‘hard’ landscaping such as laying paving and building garden structures. On completion you will have the skills to design a new garden for yourself or friends, or restore an existing garden. You will also have a great basis for further training or to pursue garden design as a professional career.

  • An introductory course that will give you a solid foundation in garden design
  • On successful completion you will receive an HCC Certificate and the Certificate of Achievement at QLS Level 3
  • Flexible home-study learning so you can fit your learning around your work and life
  • Quality course material and excellent tutor support – to help you achieve your goals
  • Suitable for both amateur and professional gardeners
  • No previous experience needed

This course is designed to be studied in printed format and available in the UK only.
